Phil House Returns to JWB alongside Gordon for 2017 Title Defence

1 Mins read

After winning the 2016 title in spectacular fashion, Phil House will return to the VW Racing Cup in order to defend his crown. House, one of only two drivers to have won the Cup three times will be favourite going into the season.

Should he win a fourth, the Yorkshire born competitor will become the series most successful driver after winning titles in ’05 and ’06. However, will be hard pushed as podium finisher Kieran Gordon will join him at JW Bird Motorsport.

“I cant wait to get back out in the car, 2016 was such a great year, I’m still on a high!” stated House. “The championship looks very strong in 2017 so I will have to use all my experience to try and win again!”

“I will be using the Scirocco again next season and I am just currently in the process of stripping the car down for a full winter rebuild.” The champion is fully aware of the increase in quality and will be under great pressure to defend his crown.

“Again this has all been made possible by continued support from Ripley Caravan Park and Dreamy Pet Products, I will also hopefully have a couple more partners to announce before the start of the season at Oulton”

Last year, the 37-year-old raced under the name JW Bird Motorsport with PH Motorsport. He’ll once again be joined at the JWB team by the grids most experienced individual; Philip Morris, who was announced in December.

His greatest challenge could come from his fellow team-mate though. Gordon has joined JWB from Team HARD Racing as he looks to compete for the title after an impressive debut in 2016, where he finished fourth overall.
