Winter Series Champion Priaulx Returns For 2017 Junior Challenge

1 Mins read

Reigning Ginetta Junior Winter Series champion Seb Priaulx will be back for a second season in the championship this year with JHR Developments.

Priaulx produced a superb maiden car-racing campaign in 2016, adding the Winter Series crown to his vice-champion honours in the Rookie Cup.

The Guernseyman secured fourteen Rookie podiums across the main campaign, as well as a superb overall victory at Silverstone.

That success came as part of the JHR squad, with his return expanding their 2017 line-up to five cars – joining Adam Smalley, Harry Dyson, Jenson Dineen and Matt Luff.

Priaulx’s 2017 challenge will come in a Ginetta G40J adorned with a red and white livery for new headline sponsor, 1st Central car insurance.

“Having 1st Central support me as I head into 2017 and beyond is an amazing boost for my career,” said Priaulx.

“I know from my father how finding such sponsorship at a crucial time is important. We can now work on laying down a foundation for my career and being able to plan long term is amazing.”

Seb’s father, current WEC star Andy Priaulx, added: “I am a very proud racing father, so for Seb to have attracted such a high profile long term sponsor so early in his career is pretty amazing.

“We are all excited about his future and are already looking to him moving into Formula 4 and then heading to a career that hopefully will take him right to the top.”
