Wood Heads To HHC For Junior Title Challenge

1 Mins read

Tom Wood has made the switch from Elite Motorsport to HHC Motorsport for his second season in the Ginetta Junior Championship this year.

The 15 year old enjoyed a fantastic debut campaign, securing ten podium finishes in the Rookie Class in his Elite-run Ginetta G40 Junior.

The highlights of the Castle Donington racer’s season came with two outright podium finishes, including a best finish of second at Rockingham.

“I’m delighted to be joining the HHC Motorsport Ginetta Junior team this season,” said Wood.

“As they are the 2016 championship winners, I know I now have a great opportunity to be successful this year. I’m very excited looking ahead to the season opener at Brands Hatch!”

Wood is HHC Motorsport’s fourth confirmed driver for the 2017 campaign, joining rookie entrants Scott McKenna and Ruben Del Sarte, and the returning Charlie Digby.

HHC owner Charlie Kemp added: “It’s great to have Tom joining the team in his second year as part of the championship, he had some strong results last year and we aim to build on this with consistent podiums in 2017.

“As always, every year the Ginetta Junior Championship gets tougher and tougher as quality of teams and drivers gets ever better. But with the effort Tom and the team will put in we hope to be vying for the title come the last round at Brands.”
