Richardson Racing Enter Ginetta Juniors With Rookie Browning

1 Mins read

Junior Saloon Car Championship graduate Luke Browning has been named as Richardson Racing’s first ever driver for the Ginetta Junior Championship.

The Corby-based team have joined the series as part of an expanded race programme for 2017, alongside their existing British F4 and Ginetta GT5 Challenge commitments.

Browning makes the transition to the BTCC support package following an impressive maiden car-racing campaign in the Junior Saloons (formerly Saxmax).

The 15 year old secured no less than four podium finishes, including a breakthrough win at Brands Hatch, to finish inside the championship top ten.

Browning has already has the opportunity to get behind the wheel of his Ginetta G40J at Rockingham recently, with more tests planned before the season opener.

“I have to say a massive thank you to Richardson Racing for having faith in me and for giving me this fantastic opportunity,” he said.

“I also have to say a special thank you to all my family, friend and sponsors as without them, none of this would be happening. Now I just can’t wait for the season to start at Brands Hatch.”

Team principal Gwyn Richardson added: “We are delighted to welcome Luke onboard for 2017 and are pleased to confirm him as our first junior driver.

“He is clearly a very talented driver as he showed on track last season, and also with his performance in testing at Rockingham where the conditions he faced were far from ideal.

“He is a very easy-going youngster who immediately got on well with the team, and we are confident that he will prove to be a competitive driver on the Ginetta Junior grid this season.”
