Red Bull Global Rallycross returns to New England this weekend for its first visit to the area since 2013.
The visit to Thompson, Connecticut will also be the first double header event of the season.
Once again, The Checkered Flag will get you ready for the weekend by offering some crucial hints for the Red Bull GRC Fantasy Challenge.

Scott Speed still heads the points standings – Credit: Louis Yio/Red Bull GRC
Tier 1 – Scott Speed
Scott Speed is still the undisputed king of Red Bull GRC even though he missed out on the win last time out. The former F1 driver dominated the season opener and was on target to repeat that result in Kentucky until contact with team mate Tanner Foust dropped him down the field. On his day, Speed is unstoppable.

Steve Arpin has arguably been the star of the season so far – Credit: Louis Yio/Red Bull GRC
Tier 2 – Steve Arpin
Steve Arpin came agonisingly close to winning in Louisville, instead having to settle for second place. Other than championship leader Speed, Arpin is the only other driver this season to finish on the podium in both of the first two events. Although he’s yet to take a main event win this year, he is definitely one to watch.

Chris Atkinson is knocking on the door – Credit: Ben Haulenbeek/Subaru Rally Team USA
Tier 3 – Chris Atkinson
Some may see this as a bizarre choice given Honda‘s strong start to the year, but despite a somewhat disappointing start to the season, Subaru have still shown promise. New England could well see a season-best result for former rally star Chris Atkinson who has taken to rallycross effortlessly.

Conner Martell is the early Lites favourite – Credit: Louis Yio/Red Bull GRC
Tiebreaker – Conner Martell
Conner Martell has certainly asserted himself as the early championship favourite in Red Bull GRC Lites. The youngster has kept his nose clean and took a pair of top three results already. A third and fourth this weekend? quite possibly.
