Luke Browning claimed victory in the opening British Formula 4 round of the Snetterton weekend.

Browning was promoted to the race lead on the penultimate lap when leading team-mates Louis Foster and Adam Smalley made contact, sending Foster into a spin and Smalley running wide.

Browning and Total Control Racing’s Patrick Kibble moved past the Elite Motorsport duo but Smalley quickly bounced back, catching Kibble and fighting for second in the closing laps. The battle behind him allowed Browning to pull clear of Kibble, finishing 2.5s ahead of the rookie, with Smalley a further 0.7s behind.

The race lead changed hands a number of times early in the race, with Foster, Browning, and Finley Green all running at the top of the order at one point. As the race began to settle out, Foster and Smalley broke away from the fight for third, which Browning was leading ahead of Kibble and Green.

Ruben del Sarte took fourth, ahead of Foster and Johnny Wilkinson, who was promoted up a position when Green span on the final lap.

Matt Luff also managed to get ahead of Green to take P7, when Greg Johnson and Gus Burton completing the top 10.
