Louis Foster took his second Ginetta Junior victory of the day in the second race of the weekend at Rockingham.
Foster spent most of the race swapping places with Finley Green at the front of the order before an incident late in the race knocked Green out of the lead fight.
The rookie eventually finished six tenths of a second ahead of Luke Browning, passing the Richardson Racing driver in the championship fight.
Green began to struggle after Foster reclaimed the race lead at Tarzan. A wide moment allowed Browning and Patrick Kibble pass the Elite Motorsport driver. Green attempted to fight back but was sent wide after an incident with Kibble which James Hedley was also caught up in.
Kibble and Green plummeted down the order while Hedley was left stranded at the side of the track.
Richardson Racing’s James Taylor was the first to benefit from the drama, moving up to third ahead of Greg Johnson and championship leader Adam Smalley.
Smalley quickly passed Johnson to take fourth but ran out of laps before he could move further forward. His fourth place finish puts him 33 points ahead of Foster in the championship fight.
Johnson finished fifth ahead of Kibble and Lorcan Hanafin.
Jonny Wilkinson, Gus Burton, and Tom Emson rounded out the top 10.
