Del Sarte takes first 2018 pole at Silverstone

1 Mins read

TCR’s Ruben del Sarte claimed his first Ginetta Junior pole of the season ahead of the first race of the weekend at Silverstone.

Del Sarte had set the pace early in the 15 minute session but dropped down the order as the usual front runners took their positions at the sharp end of the field.

It wasn’t until his final lap of the session that del Sarte reclaimed the top spot, a 1:11.168 lap time putting him 0.115s ahead of Luke Browning.

Browning spent most of the session swapping places with Adam Smalley, Louis Foster and Patrik Kibble at the top of the order. He eventually managed a 1:11.283 lap to put himself out of reach of his championship rivals and finished a comfortable second.

Kibble took third ahead of Foster and James Hedley. Championship leader Smalley could only manage sixth quickest, just 0.034s ahead of Greg Johnson.

Finley Green, Gus Burton, and Lorcan Hanafin completed the top 10.
