Tatiana Calderon returns to GP3 Series action this weekend at the Yas Marina Circuit for the season finale.
In the almost two month lay off between races, Calderon has been kept busy with two outings in Formula 1 machinery as part of her test duties with the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team.
She made her first appearance in a grand prix car in a promotional run at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez completing 23 laps at the wheel of the 2018-spec Sauber C37.
Last weekend, she took part in a two-day test in the Sauber C32 at the iconic Ferrari test track Fiorano.
As well, she tested the DS Techeetah in France ahead of her upcoming FIA Formula E test in Riyadh next month.
However, her focus now firmly returns to her GP3 campaign, for what will be the final race of the championship in its current guise before being replaced by the FIA Formula 3 International Championship.
Calderon scored points in both races in Sochi last time out, as she came off the back of her best ever result of sixth in Monza.
“It feels like ages since the last GP3 race, I think because so many things happened since the last race in Russia – my debut in a Formula 1 car in Mexico and then testing in Fiorano, which was an amazing experience. So I feel more than ready to go back to GP3 and put everything I’ve learnt into practice.
“We are coming from our best weekend of the season in Sochi, and Abu Dhabi is a track I know well, so I think we can keep doing a good job. Hopefully we can have our best weekend of the season and I look forward to racing with the soft compound tyre in the heat of Abu Dhabi.”
The momentum is firmly with Tatiana and her Jenzer Motorsport team as they seek to conclude what has been a positive second half of the season.
