Motorsport specialists want2race are launching a new 24 hour race to take place in March next year, with the 24HR Ginetta Prologue event designed to be the “ultimate pre-season challenge of team-work, strategy and car preparation.”

The first ever one-make Ginetta 24 hour race will take place at the Guadix circuit in Spain over the 1-3 March and will be open exclusively to Ginetta G40 machinery, with an anticipated capacity twenty car grid.

Three to six drivers will share each car, with teams and drivers welcome from the Ginetta Junior, GT5 Challenge and G40 Cup championships, with separate classes to match the car specification for each series.

The three day meeting will start with four hours of exclusive testing on Friday and an hour of free practice/qualifying on Saturday morning ahead of the 24 hour race, before ending with a prize giving dinner on Sunday evening.

“We couldn’t be more excited to unveil the 24HR Ginetta Prologue,” said want2race boss Ben Hyland. “There are currently limited opportunities to enjoy competitive race action in the pre-season and therefore we feel this is an exciting addition to the motorsport landscape in the UK.

“This event provides superb value for money, with crucial testing and race mileage in preferable conditions to the UK at less than £140 per hour, the ideal opportunity for drivers and teams to get into their rhythm ahead of the 2019 season.

“We hope to attract a diverse range of entrants from across the experience spectrum, inviting those who have previously competed in Ginetta championships whilst also providing this as an opportunity to welcome new drivers to Ginetta G40 competition.

“We will have an independent clerk of the course and scrutineers to ensure fair, close-fought competition, as well as parts support from Ginetta. With assistance included for transport, logistics and amenities, we feel this is an appealing package for entrants.”

All queries regarding the event should be directed to Ben Hyland at W2R Motorsport at [email protected].
