Australian Formula Ford front runner Bart Horsten will make his British racing debut with Arden Motorsport in the 2019 British Formula 4 championship.

Hortsen enjoyed a string of podium finishes in his first year in car racing to finish ninth in the 2018 Australian Formula Ford championship.

The 16-year-old is the first driver to be confirmed for reigning teams’ champion Arden for the upcoming season, and team boss Garry Horner hopes his experience will help the team continue its success next year.

“We are delighted that Bart has joined the Arden family and will be competing in the 2019 British F4 Championship with us,” he said.

“Bart has the talent, experience, and temperament to shine in F4 next year and we are looking forward to enjoying a very successful season together.”

Horsten added: “I’m extremely excited to be racing with Arden in next year’s British F4 Champion.

“I can’t thank them enough for their help in making the move to the UK and providing such a welcoming environment. I have huge confidence in the team and what they can achieve next season.”

Horsten is the fourth driver to be confirmed for the upcoming season. British racers Finley Green and Luke Browning have signed for Carlin and Richardson Racing respectively, while Roberto Faria will run with Fortec Motorsport.
