Phil Keen and Barwell Motorsport have announced their return to the British GT Championship for 2019 as they bring on board Adam Balon for new season.

The team will also race a new car for the next season, upgrading their existing model to the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo.

Barwell, who have been one of the staples of the GT Championship will again return, signing multiple GT4 race winner Balon, who will step up to the GT3 class. Balon has competed in the last two seasons for the Track-Club outfit in the McLaren 570S GT4.

Balon will not be new to GT3’s either, having competed for Track-Club in the 24H Series, racing the Porsche 911 GT3 for select outings in 2018. Previously he finished third in the Lotus UK Supersport Cup in 2016 before his move to British GT.

“So excited to be stepping up to GT3 with such high quality players such as Barwell, Lambo and Phil Keen,” said Balon. “No pressure then…”

Keen, now in his fourth year with the outfit will be hoping for similar success that he achieved alongside the outgoing Jon Minshaw.  He has finished as runners-up in the last three seasons.

“It’s great to be back for another year with Lamborghini and Barwell in BGT, really looking forward to working with Adam and seeing what we can achieve in our first year together.” said Keen.

Team Principal Mark Lemmer continued the sentiment; “The first time Adam tested with us he was immediately fast and fitted straight in with the Barwell philosophy, I’m sure he and Keeny are going to make a formidable partnership going forward!”
