Geordie Mutch starts his third season in car-racing following a promising maiden campaign in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge with Fox Motorsport.

Last year Mutch showed strong development with his pace and consistency through the year, culminating in a breakthrough podium finish during the season finale at Donington Park.

Prior to embarking on the GT5 Challenge, the 16 year old as a regular race winner in the Junior Saloon Car Championship in 2017; before winning the Fox Motorsport Ginetta Junior Scholarship to earn a prize drive in the season-ending Winter Series, where he took a rookie race win.

“I’m so pleased to be staying with Fox Motorsport.” said Mutch. “Coming into the GT5 Challenge last year as one of the least-experienced drivers made it impossible to run at the front right away, but we plugged away and got onto the podium before the end of the year.

“The continuity with the team is going to be of huge benefit and so is having a proper testing plan in place before and during the season; which was something we weren’t able to do last year.

“My aim is to hit the ground running at Oulton Park and improve significantly on 2018.”

Paul McNeilly, team principal added, “It’s tremendous news to have Gordie back on-board. He showed huge potential on the Ginetta Junior Shoot-out assessment day, and since then we’ve worked incredibly hard to help him develop these skills and mature as a driver.

Mutch, who will race with the support of the John Clark Motor Group, Express Tyre Service Lockerbie, Panda Racing, Echo Orthopedics and Ecurie Ecosse, is the second announced driver of an anticipated four-car entry from Fox Motorsport for the 2019 Ginetta GT5 Challenge.
