Katie Milner will race for Team Merlin International in her third Ginetta GT5 Challenge for the 2019 season.

Milner made her debut in the 2016 Junior Winter Series; shortly after becoming the first female driver to win the Junior Saloon Car Championship. The Yorkshire-based driver has competed in the GT5 Challenge since then.

The former winner of the prestigious British Women Racing Drivers Club Goldstar award has been a constant front-runner in the series, taking two consecutive top ten championship finishes. On three occasions she has had her best race finish of fourth.

Myself and the team are entering this season feeling confident that we can achieve a top-three finish.” commented Milner.

“To be the best, you need to beat the best, so I am looking forward to racing new people and further developing my skills in one of the UK’s most competitive one-make series.

With two years of experience in the series as well as a fantastic team behind me in Merlin International, I am in an excellent position to stir up the competition whilst also flying the flag for female representation in the sport.”

Milner is not just a racing driver, she is also a prominent advocate for widening representation in motorsport. She serves as an ambassador for the Dare To Be Different foundation; which inspires diversity in motorsport as well as encouraging females to become involved at all levels of the sport.

This season the Merlin International team will be backed by key sponsors Swift Caravans, Snap-On Tools UK, Richardson Transport, LMA Aerosols, Reis Motorsport Insurance and Harc Health in 2019, while Milner will be mentored by Le Mans 24 Hours winner Guy Smith.

For the 2019 season the series shall join the British GT Championship at five meetings then make two outings on the British Touring Car Championship support bill.
