Jamie Chadwick will race in the Formula Regional European Championship in 2020 after joining front-running outfit Prema Powerteam.

The 2019 W Series champion and Williams Racing development driver will replace Roman Stanek in the four-car Prema assault on the championship after the Czech racer left the team.

Chadwick will begin a long-term partnership with Rodin Cars in 2020, with the British racer set to be supported throughout her blossoming single-seater career, with her aim being to become the first female to reach Formula 1 since 1992.

“I am absolutely elated to be teaming up with Prema Powerteam for the Formula Regional European Championship this year,” said Chadwick.  “With such an amazing calendar, what looks to be a very competitive grid and, of course. the support of the Prema team, I really cannot wait to get back racing in August.

“I am incredibly grateful to Rodin Cars and David Dicker for this life changing opportunity, and their support in the next chapter of my racing career. I’m so excited to start this journey with them and I hope we can enjoy mutual success together.”

Chadwick will line up alongside Oliver Rasmussen, Gianluca Petecof and Arthur Leclerc in 2020, and Angelo Rosin, the Team Principal at Prema, expressed his delight in signing another highly rated driver to his team.

“We are delighted to welcome Jamie to our Formula Regional European team for the upcoming season,” said Rosin.  “She achieved brilliant results in her career so far, and we are looking forward to seeing her step up to this challenging international championship.

“Coming from the W Series, she knows the machinery quite well and her experience will definitely be a valuable asset. We are absolutely committed and will give our 100 per cent to help her succeed.”
