Falken Motorsports will enter a single Porsche 911 GT3-R for Christian Engelhart and Dennis Olsen in the opening round of the NLS series this weekend.
The team had originally planned to enter two cars in the double header of the Nordschleife based series in mid-July, but have added a late entry into NLS1 with a lack of testing opportunities available in the next few weeks.
Stefanie Olbertz, head of Motorsport Operations at Falken Tyre Europe said on the decision: “It’s a boost for the fans, team, drivers and engineers to get some more track time.”
“Dennis (Olsen) drove our car in Portimao and Christian (Engelhart) joined us at the most recent NLS test. Both provided great feedback to our engineers, worked very well with the rest of the team and their extensive testing experience benefits our own tyre development programme.”
The opening round of the season will take place behind closed doors, although Olbertz has encouraged fans of the team to watch the race online, with a live-stream onboard available throughout the weekend.
She added: “We don’t want the fans to miss out and our live stream means they experience the race first-hand and watch Dennis and Christian at work. Onboard around the Nordschleife is always special and together with regular updates from the team, fans can feel a little bit closer to the action.”
The NLS series begins this weekend following a delay due to the coronavirus crisis, with the revised calendar featuring eight events.
