FIA World Rallycross Championship regular Kevin Hansen will enter the CrossCar class at Arvika next in the third round of the RallyX Nordic series next weekend.

Hansen was a title contender in last year’s World RX, ended 2019 third in the title standings and also took his first world championship win at Abu Dhabi in the first round of the season. He also went on to take four more podium finishes.

After the season-finale at Cape Town, Kevin has focused on running the new #YellowSquad Supercar Lites outfit together with his brother Timmy who became the World RX champion last season.

As well as manaing his own team containing drivers such as Henrik Krogstad next weekend, he will be entering the CrossCar class in his family team’s new LifeLive Nordic outfit, piloting one of the LifeLive TN5 cars that was used by Timmy and Thierry Neuville at Höljes earlier this month. Neuville who is a five-time FIA World Rally Championship runner-up, has designed the chassis.

“I’m so excited to start the season! I was really eager at Höljes, seeing Timmy and Thierry drive and witnessing the progress we made over the weekend with the LifeLive TN5.” Kevin said.

Kevin, who hasn’t driven a CrossCar since 2018 when he made a wining wildcard appearance at the RallyX on Ice event is keen to be back behind the wheel of one once again.

He added:“It’s been a long time since I raced a CrossCar – it was back in the winter of 2018 when I won RallyX on Ice, so it’s really great to come back and I hope the positive development we have made since Höljes will allow us to be a bit faster.”

“Finally the season for me is getting underway, and at a circuit where I won my first Supercar Lites race in 2014. I have a lot of great memories from Arvika, I love the track and the competition will be very, very tough. Let’s do this!”

The weekend can be followed live in a similar way to the All-Star ‘Magic Weekend’ earlier this month and it’ll also be broadcast live on NEP.

The Swedish Rallycross Championship meanwhile can be followed live on SBFplay. The finals from both series will also be broadcasted live on TV by SVT.
