The 2017 FIA WRC2 champion Pontus Tidemand will be back for another rallycross season with his new team Hedströms Motorsport, first up will be the All-Star ‘Magic Weekend’ on 2-5 July at Höljes in Sweden, while waiting for the FIA European Rallycross Championship to kick-off later this summer.

Tidemand made his rallycross debut in the opening-season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship back in 2014 for the EKS team and most recently returned last year in the Euro RX for Eklund Motorsport where he reached the finals on his four outings.

Tidemand is now ready to give everything as the first international rallycross event will be held this weekend at Höljes in the Swedish Värmland forests, he is hoping to achieve success with the Volkswagen Polo Supercar.

This is a fantastic car, the coolest RX car I’ve driven”  Tidemand said and continues to explain about the team.

“Hedströms Motorsport is really excited to finally start the season and the atmosphere in the team is really great with just a few days until start. We are well prepared and everyone involved gives their all to make sure we have the best possible chance to do good this weekend. The Höljes track is one of my favourites and I feel like I’ve got a great pace. I’m ready for max attack and it will be so much fun to drive competitively again!”

Tidemand will not have a easy weekend as he will be joined by the two-time World RX champion Johan Kristoffersson, two-time Euro RX champion Robin Larsson, two-time RX2 champion Oliver Eriksson, 2018 RallyX Nordic champion Oliver Solberg and Niclas Grönholm to name a few.

“It will definitely be intense with that many skilled drivers. But that is also what makes it interesting, you want tough competition both for yourself and for the fans to keep the excitement and the motivation on top. I think and hope for a thrilling fight from the first to the last heat” Tidemand added.
