This weekend the 2020 RallyX Nordic season will be completed with the two final rounds at Nysum in Denmark where the champions will be crowned in all four classes.
Following the opening three rounds at two of the most legendary Swedish venues of Höljes and Arvika, everything now comes down to two days of competition around the Nysumbanen track which has played host to many a memorable race in the RallyX Nordic series in the past.
Joining alongside the RallyX Nordic series this weekend will be the stand-alone single event of the RX2 International Series, where some of the RallyX Nordic Supercar Lites drivers could potentially go on to challenge for two titles this weekend. The winner of the last-ever RX2 round will be rewarded a fully-funded single-round in the upcoming all-electric FIA eRX2 Championship next year.
Also joining the RallyX Nordic series after the huge success at Arvika last time out will be the additional support category SuperNational, where several local drivers will be fighting for victory.

The closest title fight ever in the Supercar Lites class has taken place throughout this season between rivals Henrik Krogstad and Jesse Kallio and as they head to Nysum, the pair are tied on championship points. Linus Östlund and Simon Olofsson are closely behind too, with all top four drivers separated by just six points.
Krogstad made his comeback in Supercar Lites this season after being away for a year and had to fight hard for strong results on his debut appearance with his new team #YellowSquad but at Arvika he was unbeatable, taking back-to-back wins in three out of the four qualifying sessions and won the final – almost a clean sweep that was denied by Östlund who passed him on the last corner in the fourth qualifying heat.
Kallio dominated at the season opener held at Höljes only for a gearshift issue on the opening day to cause him what to lose what looked like a certain double victory. The Flying Finn struggled through the semi-final and final at Arvika due to having a wrist injury.

Östlund is the only one of the four drivers that can win the championship trophy who hasn’t won a round so far this season, but last year’s RallyX Nordic championship runner-up has been consistency is key by claiming two podiums at Höljes and he also won the Swedish championship crown at Arvika.
Olofsson celebrated success in the opening round of the season at Höljes and he has remained a front-runner ever since. The Swede made a costly mistake at Arvika in the semi-final when he ran wide and hit the barrier on the jokerlap exit, damaging his front-right suspension and had to retire from the event as a result.

In the Supercar class, the two-time World Rallycross Champion Johan Kristoffersson leads the championship by claiming a hat trick of wins so far this season, but as he misses out at Nysum, the door is wide open for others to challenge for top honours.
Oliver Eriksson – who sits in the second place currently in the standings – was on en route to win ahead of Kristoffersson last time out in Arvika, but suffered two punctures while leading the final. The two-time RX2 champion was given a reward to enter the FIA European Rallycross Championship this season, where he dominated in the first round of the season at Höljes.
Eriksson’s team mate Fraser McConnell is nine points behind in third place. The Jamaican made his Supercar debut at Höljes earlier this summer where he shocked all by reaching the final in the second round of the double header.

In the high-calibre field, there are a number of other entrants who aren’t in contention for the championship. Linus Westman had a terrible start to his season at Höljes but came back stronger by finishing second at Arvika, while returning to the series is RX2 graduate Ben-Philip Gundersen who had a standout performance at Höljes. Per Eklund is also again competing this weekend despite being 74 years old!
Three locals will also be joining the field for the season finale. Ulrik Linnemann made his RallyX Nordic debut at Nysum back in 2018 where he had problems in the qualifying heats before making a fine comeback to triumph with a podium finish in the final while Dennis Rømer will also be joining at Nysum for his third consecutive year alongside 18-year-old Supercar debutant Tobias Daarbak.

Isak Reiersen amazing performance over the three rounds of the 2020 campaign has carried the Swede to the top of the CrossCar/Crosskart championship as they head to Nysum, but he is closely followed by his fellow countryman Max Rundberg by just a single point.

Reiersen has not been off the podium all season, but Rundberg has been fighting hard to stay up there by taking a victory at Höljes before suffering an accident in the final at Arvika.
