ART Grand Prix’s Grégoire Saucy Concludes FRECA’s Barcelona Test On Top

Grégoire Saucy hit the top of the timesheets on the second day of the second Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine pre-season test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Friday.

The ART Grand Prix driver set the best time of the whole test on Friday morning, his 1:40.208 just 0.056 seconds clear of day one pacesetter Patrik Pasma of KIC Motorsport

Six different teams filled the top six places, with Prema Powerteam’s Mercedes-Benz protégé Paul Aron ending the day third quickest behind Saucy and Pasma, with Arden’s Alex Quinn, R-ace GP’s Isack Hadjar and MP Motorsport’s Kas Haverkort all close behind – just 0.179 second separated the leading six!

William Alatalo ensured there were two Arden cars inside the top seven, while MP Motorsport ended with three cars inside the top nine, Franco Colapinto ending just ahead of team-mate Oliver GøtheVan Amersfoort Racing completed the top ten with Francesco Pizzi.

R-ace GP’s Hadrien David, who had been fastest on both test days last week at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, missed out on a place inside the top ten on day two in Spain by finishing the day eleventh, just ahead of FA Racing’s Andrea Rosso and Prema Powerteam’s Dino Beganovic.

ART Grand Prix’s Thomas Ten Brinke was fourteenth, just 0.555 seconds behind team-mate Saucy, while Van Amersfoort Racing’s second representative, Lorenzo Fluxá, placed fifteenth ahead of Prema’s David Vidales and KIC Motorsport’s Elias Seppänen

The top twenty was rounded out by JD Motorsport’s Eduardo Barrichello, ART Grand Prix’s Gabriele Mini and R-ace GP’s Zane Maloney.

As on day one, G4 Racing’s Bélen Garcia brought up the rear of the field, while R-ace GP’s Léna Bühler was again absent through injury.
