Swiss outfit G4 Racing will race in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine in 2021 after taking over the entry initially planned for BhaiTech Racing.
BhaiTech Racing raced in the Formula Renault Eurocup championship last year and were named as one of the teams to race in the new series this year, but they have subsequently transferred their entry to G4 Racing as well as its cars and equipment.
G4 Racing currently races in karting as well as in Italian Formula 4 but will now increase their presence in junior formulae with three cars planned to compete in FRECA this season. They will continue to run out of their Spanish base which is located close to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
“This is a further step that our family is happy to climb, with the aim to install G4 Racing in the motorsport industry for years,” said G4 Racing CEO, Quentin Gnos. “We are committed to the project and looking forward to this new adventure.”
As in 2020, Adrian Muñoz is the Sporting and Technical Director for G4 Racing, and he believes adding a programme in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine is a ‘logical’ step in the development of the team.
“Formula Regional Championship by Alpine is the logical next step in the growing process of G4 Racing,” said Muñoz. “Since I joined them for the 2020 season, our goal has been pursuit a natural evolution of the team.
“From a personal point of view, this step is a return to a championship that has been my home for many years and where I have very good memories.”
Announcement of the driver line-up will come in due course, although Axel Gnos, the son of the CEO is being linked to one of the three seats.
