Alessandro Famularo will join the grid for the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine for at least the next three rounds after signing for G4 Racing.

The Venezuelan will link-up with full-time entrant Axel Gnos and part-time racer Bélen Garcia for the next round at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya at the beginning of May, while he will also race at the Circuit de Monaco and Circuit Paul Ricard next month.

Famularo raced in three rounds of the Formula Regional European Championship with Van Amersfoort Racing last year, and he will be looking to impress immediately when he takes to the track in Spain, particularly as the round will again be in support to Formula 1.

“I am very happy for this opportunity and I want to thank the whole team for their trust,” said Famularo. “I hope to learn a lot this season and I will give my best to achieve our goals.”

Adrián Muñoz, the Sporting and Technical Manager at G4 Racing, has welcomed the news of a third car being added to their line-up this year, and he feels bringing in Famularo will give the team a boost right from the start.

”With the addition of Alessandro, our team will benefit from a very quick and talented driver who will also boost the technical and sporting activity with his experience with the car and tyres,” said Muñoz.

“Even without the chance to have him in testing and the first race , we are sure he will do his best and will unlock the pace he already has.”
