SRX race, championship format revealed

The Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) season’s six-race championship and event format are now official. On Thursday, the series revealed the race format and points system, which will include heat races and field inversions.

Unlike the standard lap counter used in other stock car series and for the feature, the two heats will be timed at fifteen minutes apiece; when time runs out, the white flag will wave to start the final lap. The first heat will have its starting lineup set by random draw, which also determines which car they will receive (as a spec series, the cars are roughly equivalent outside of certain nuances).

The winner of the heat will earn twelve points, while second will get eleven and so on. The field is then inverted for the second heat with the same points rewards.

The grid for the feature is then set by the finishing order in Heat #2. Points are doubled with the finishers in the same positions getting twice as many points, though there is an added point for the race winner such that they receive twenty-five points. The feature is 100 laps at every track besides Slinger Speedway, where it will be 150 laps.

A green-white-checkered finish can be initiated to ensure the race ends under green unless there is a caution on the final lap. Similar to the overtime rules in NASCAR and ARCA, there are unlimited chances to complete a GWC.

The 2021 season will begin on 12 June at Stafford Speedway. CBS will provide exclusive and live coverage.
