The official entry lists have been revealed for the Euro RX3 which will run the season-finale in FIA World Rallycross Championship at Montalegre in Portugal on 16/17 October, where 21 drivers featuring many local stars will start the final round.

The track, which is built high up in the Vila Real mountains in northern Portugal, returns to this year’s calendar and will be run a little later than usual due to the pandemic.

The RX3 championship has been almost completely dominated by two names in this year’s season, where it is a tough battle for the title between points leader Yuri Belevskiy and newcomer Kobe Pauwels who is now in second, both competing in the same team Volland Racing and before the weekend’s penultimate race in Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, the title will not be decisive and will probably go all the way to the end at Montalegre.

Headlining the entry lists beside the two drivers are also Marat Knyazev and Timur Shigabutdinov who compete under the same banner, they are third and fourth respectively in standings before Spa but also the three super fast drivers Jan Cerny, Polish newcomer Damian Litwinowicz and the veteran Janno Ligur.

Apart from the 12 permanent drivers who are on the entry list, two Norwegians can be seen, Sebastian Hoidalen who will start for the third time this season and Ole-Henry Steinsholt who has had a tough season when he was banned from motorsport competitions after an incident in a local event in Norway. Steinsholt drove the RX2e season opener in Barcelona earlier this year.

But it will not be easy for the drivers as there will be as many as seven local stars to give the title contenders a run for their money in Montalegre.

Joao Ribeiro. Helder Ribeiro and Antonio Sousa are three of the more famous names that are headlining the list from the locals as they have competed in the series before, but you should not count out the newcomers Nuno Araujo, Sergio Dias, Joaquim Machado and Leonel Sampaio who have done great in the local Portuguese Rallycross Championship and this event is something that you don´t want to miss!
