MP Motorsport’s Felipe Drugovich has sealed his third pole position of the 2022 FIA Formula 2 season, with the championship leader adding another two points to his championship tally.

Enzo Fittipaldi picked up where he left off before the summer break and continued his fine form to qualify in second place for Sunday’s Feature Race, creating a Brazilian front-row lockout.

The man in third place of the championship standings, Logan Sargeant, qualified in third. The Williams junior driver was half a second off Drugovich’s benchmark of a 1:58.232.

Virtuosi Racing’s Jack Doohan was just two-thousandths off the American drivers time and found himself in fourth place, ahead of David Beckmann who put in an excellent performance after just being announced as Van Amersfoort Racing‘s replacement for the departing Jake Hughes.

After making his Formula 1 Free Practice debut with Scuderia AlphaTauri earlier in the day, Liam Lawson qualified in sixth place and will start from the third row of the grid, alongside Beckmann.

Trident’s Richard Verschoor will be behind the Carlin and alongside the other championship candidate in Théo Pourchaire in eighth. The young Frenchman will need to be on his best form in Sunday’s Feature Race with his main rival starting from pole.

PREMA Racing’s Jehan Daruvala and Campos Racing’s Ralph Boschung round out the top ten in ninth and tenth, respectively. They will start alongside each other on the first row of the grid in Saturday’s Sprint Race with the Swiss driver starting from reverse-grid pole position.
