Toyota have had a fairytale start to their return to the WRC Jari-Matti Latvala victory in Rally Sweden, but he must thank Thierry Neuville for his solid points haul due to the Belgian throwing away two dominate victories this season. Gus Greensmith was the stand out of the British drivers this weekend.
Jari-Matti Latvala secured Toyota’s first victory in the WRC since 1999 with an excellent performance on Rally Sweden. The Finn also secured maximum Power Stage points to take the championship lead away from Sébastien Ogier.
Jari-Matti Latvala regained the lead of Rally Sweden after day-long leader Thierry Neuville crashed on the Karlstad super-special stage. Stage 12 was cancelled after average stage speed record broken by 7mph on the first run through the stage.
