After leading for almost ten hours, the Toyota Gazoo Racing #7 machine of Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway and Stephane Sarazzin has retired from the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
As the #8 Toyota is stuck in its garage for repairs, Senna regains the LMP2 lead from team-mate Piquet, whose Rebellion requires new rear bodywork.
A problem for the #8 Toyota saw the leading #7 Toyota extend its advantage atop the standings to 40 seconds ahead of the #1 Porsche as darkness descended upon the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Toyota now run first and second in the 24 Hours of Le Mans after Kazuki Nakajima caught and passed Andre Lotterer for second mid-way through the seventh hour of the race.
The focus turned to LMP2, as the TDS Racing driver of Matthieu Vaxivierre hit the #88 Ferrari 488, spinning Pierre Kaffer into the barrier.
