Williams have mixed day at Jerez

1 Mins read

Intermittent showers and minor mechanical problems disrupted the Williams team on Day 1 of testing in Jerez.

Rubens Barrichello still managed to complete 109 laps, but was only tenth on the timesheets at the end of the session.

Afterwards the team's Technical director Sam Michael commented on the lack of dry running his team could do. “Today the track was generally damp with only a few windows to run dry tyres. Although we covered a good number of laps, we had a couple of small mechanical problems that cost us track time when the grip was at its highest.”

Barrichello will continue testing duties tomorrow.
