Harvey Rejoins Motorbase For PCCGB Title Defence

Harvey drove a solid race to claim second place and the championship

Tim Harvey has announced his return to Motorbase Performance as he looks to defend his Porsche Carrera Cup GB title. After four years with Red Line Racing, Harvey returns to David Batrum's team, with whom he last raced in 2006.

Harvey, who will continue to be backed by Nationwide, Datapulse and Loctite, has a successful career in the sports car series, winning the title in 2008 and 2010, as well as finishing runner up on three other occasions.

Despite being the most successful driver in Carrera Cup GB history, with 35 race wins and 105 podium finishes from 144 race starts, Harvey is hungry for more success and a third drivers crown. He believes Motorbase will provide him the best package to do that.

Oxford based Harvey said: “I'm very grateful to David for giving me the opportunity to rejoin his team. I know how good Motorbase is and I know how good a car Michael had last year. I wanted the most competitive package I can get and Motorbase can deliver that. I'm very confident that the team can put out a car that is equal, if not better, to that of anyone else.”

He added that he is looking forward to working alongside Michael Caine and Bartum again: “I know we can win the championship again and I'm very grateful to Michael for allowing me to join him in the team. I'm looking forward to working with him and I hope one of us wins the title. We will certainly mount a strong challenge for the Team Championship.

“David runs an excellent team and I'm excited about working with him again. David is a real racer and is great fun to work with.”
