Lieb And Holzer Join Flying Lizards For Sebring

1 Mins read

Flying Lizard Motorsports will bolster an already strong driver line-up for the 12 Hours of Sebring as Porsche works driver Marco Holzer and Marc Lieb join the team as third drivers for the team's pair of cars.

Lieb, who won the LMGT2 class in the Europe based Le Mans series, as well as the class at the Le Mans 24 Hours, will join the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) class champions Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long in the no.45 car. The combination of the champions marks the sixth consecutive year Lieb has joined the Lizards for Sebring. Team principal Seth Neiman remarked “it’s hard to believe he hasn’t run a full season with the team. He always fits effortlessly into place and delivers in many dimensions to our success.”

At the other end of the scale 22-year-old Holzer will be making his first start at Sebring when he shares the sister no.44 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR with Neiman and Darren Law. It will, however, be Holzer's second race in Flying Lizard colours, having also joined Neiman and Law for last October's Petit Le Mans.

The 12 Hours of Sebring (March 19) is the first round of the ALMS season, with the Sonoma-based Flying Lizard team beginning the defence of both drivers' title won by Long and Bergmeister for the past two seasons.
