Fortec Motorsport will field a strong line-up at the 24 Hours of Spa, with Fortec Formula Renault 3.5 driver Oliver Webb being joined by FIA World Endurance Championship driver Alex Brundle and Mercedes AMG factory driver, Karl Wendlinger.

Fortec will be making their debut in the highly competitive race, with over 70 cars representing nine manufacturers will be battling for honours at one of the most prestigious GT races in the world. Although the team have never entered the 24 hour race, they have been a part of the British Formula 3 International Series support races for many years.

“Spa is a really challenging event and I am extremely pleased that we have been able to secure the services of Karl, Oli and Alex,” said team manager Trevor Forster. “It is the first time we have competed with the SLS in a 24-hour event, but we have received excellent support from Mercedes-AMG and HWA in preparation for what is a world class event and we intend to maximise this opportunity as a team, and produce a strong showing amongst some very good teams and drivers.”

“I’m pleased to add the Spa 24 Hours to my WEC season,” said Brundle, who recently took second in the LMP2 class at the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans. “There is great strength and depth in the field for the race, so I am confident that this is the right place and time for me to make a start in GTs. The Mercedes SLS, along with a strong driver line-up and Fortec support, will be a competitive package.”
