The session is getting started under grey skies but as of yet, the track is dry
Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari is sparking majorly going down to the Parabolica
So far no one has set a timed lap, just running in systems on the car
Chilton is the first to set a time and it is 1:33.435.
Roberto Merhi’s Caterham has got a green flashing light to show rivals he has yet to get a super licence to ‘warn’ other drivers
Magnussen is fastest now in the McLaren and has significantly jumped rivals by going 1:28.256
KMag now goes a second faster than his previous best and breaks into the 1:27s as Red Bull have issues with their DRS
New run off area round the Parabolica sees a lot of drivers pushing their luck trying to get more speed onto the start/finish straight
Mercedes now running 1-2 as usual running is resumed following McLaren strong running in the last 27 minutes.
Magnussen radios team stating he only has front brakes
Daniel Juncadella was only in the Force India for the first thirty minutes so Sergio Perez will be taking back over.
Everyone is currently in the pits for tea and cakes but expect more action to get underway in the next few minutes
Vettel and Bottas have already made use of the extra run off area at Parabolica in this session
Cars are coming back out on track now, Raikkonen, Chilton and Merhi are taking to the straights whilst the track is quiet
Force India is being repaired for Perez, Juncadella may have broken the floor of the VJM07 during his running
Head rest has come off KMag’s car, he has pulled back into the pits to get it reattached
Ricciardo being called into the pits with an issue the team don’t want to discuss over the radio
The Red Bull driver is climbing out of the car, his session looks finished
Whilst all that has been happening, Button has gone fastest overall by 0.15 seconds
Hamilton now fastest again, the Brits are leap frogging each other. Mercedes driver has a 1:26.547
Maldonado has made a few mistakes this session as he looks to find the limits, nothing too major though (yet)
After only seven laps in the car, Sergio Perez is up to 8th, two places ahead of his team mate
Bottas again runs wide at the Parabolica, doesn’t seem to be as pinned down through the turn as some others are
Massa takes to the sleeping policemen at the first chicane
Perez skims over the gravel at the Ascari chicane
The time has ticked down to 0:00 and Lewis Hamilton has finished fastest, top ten to follow when more have crossed the line/pitted
McLaren will be looking on happy at their results of this session and will be hoping that can be carried through to the weekend
