Max Verstappen: “I enjoyed it out there”

1 Mins read

Max Verstappen was a happy teenager after qualifying ninth in Hungary despite admitting to struggling with the high track temperatures with his Scuderia Toro Rosso.

The young Dutch driver felt ninth was the best he could have managed during the qualifying session at the Hungaroring, and insists the aim for the weekend is to secure only his third points finish of a season full of promise.

“I’m happy with qualifying in ninth position today, especially after having a few problems in this morning’s practice session where, like yesterday, I was struggling a bit with the high track temperatures,” said Verstappen.

“We were able to stay calm and it was a good qualifying lap. I think today’s result is the maximum we could do and I enjoyed it out there this afternoon!

“Our objective for tomorrow is clearly to score some points and I will try my best to make that happen.”
