The Sauber F1 Team will allow their reserve driver Raffaele Marciello a fourth free practice session of the season at next weekend’s United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas.
Ferrari Driver Academy member Marciello has previously contested the opening free practice session in Malaysia, Spain and Great Britain, and also ran in two of the in-season test days with the Swiss team.
Marciello, who is currently eighth in the 2015 GP2 Series standings with Trident Racing, will take over the car of Felipe Nasr in the opening free practice session on Friday morning in Austin, before the Brazilian resumes his driving duties for the remainder of the weekend.
The United States Grand Prix will be Sauber’s 400th Grand Prix, having debuted back in the 1993 South African Grand Prix with JJ Lehto securing two points for a fifth place finish that afternoon.
