1 Mins read

The 2016 calendar for the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy has been announced* and includes a new addition to the series.

Made up for twelve rounds the championship will open in Portugal and finish in Argentina once again, there is the addition of an all-new race in Riga, Latvia in October while Franciacorta in Italy and Intercity Istanbul Park in Turkey have both been dropped.

The season opens on the weekend of 16/17 April and then sees World RX join the DTM series once again on 7/8 May following their highly successful collaboration this year.

Belgium, Canada, Great Britain, France and Barcelona, all keep the same dates with Argentina finishing the season on 26/27 November.

The FIA European Rallycross Championship will once again run a five round calendar alongside World RX in Belgium, Norway, Sweden and Barcelona plus Latvia replacing the former Italian round.

The Super1600 Championship heads to Portugal, Great Britain, Sweden, France, Barcelona and Germany while the TouringCar series visits Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Latvia and Germany.
