Lewis Plato has become the latest star name to join the Porsche Carrera Cup GB in 2016, accompanying reigning champion Dan Cammish, scholar Charlie Eastwood and Ginetta GT4 Supercup champion Tom Oliphant in the Redline Racing operation.
Plato will be a name familiar to fans of British GT, having raced a Mercedes SLS in the category last year alongside Alistair MacKinnon.
After a slightly tricky year, Plato now switches to “sprint” endurance racing and adds to an already impressive Redline line-up that goes into this season hunting for further title success.
Speaking to Motorsport News, Plato comments, “I am in the early stages of my career and thought it would be best to make the move back into a one-make championship.”
Other new additions to the grid include Sean Hudspeth who will add to an already impressive Pro-Am2 grid for Parr Motorsport and Barrie Baxter is a further boost to this portion of the grid.
