The Le Mans 24 Hours winning Peugeot 908 HDI FAP will return to the famous track (sort of) as part of the final weekend of the Rencontres Peugeot Sport Series from November 5-8.
The French based series will round out its season at the shorter, permanent Bugatti circuit, showcasing Peugeot's single make series as well as celebrating their previous La Sarthe victory.
908 works drivers Franck Montangny, Stephane Sarrazin and Nicolas Minassian will team up together for a six hour endurance race in a road-spec 207RC in the “207 Relay” race, with up to 50 other entrants expected. The car the three Frenchmen will share will carry the racing number 908 on car whose livery will recall that of Peugeot's prototype racer.
The 24 Hour winning No.9 car will make a demonstration run around the track before a demonstration pit stop and driver change for the Le Mans crowd.
Also racing at the track will the THP Spider Cup, a single make series for Peugoet's open top sportscar, with former French international and Manchester United goalkeeper Fabien Barthez expected to climb into a race car.
Barthez, the 908 trio and other stars, will also be signing autographs at the track, where the paddock will also host slot car races and Xbox 360 experiences for fans along with a range of Peugeot cars on display, from the 908 HDI FAP to a number of the marques' road going models including the new RCZ coupe model.
