British Formula 3 National Class front runners T-Sport have confirmed that Menasheh Idafar will join the team for the 2010 season with backing from Gulf Computer Services W.L.L.
Idafar, who experienced his first taste of Formula 3 at the end of the 2008 season raced for Hillspeed in the 2009 Formula Renault UK Championship and for Manor Competition in the Winter Series finishing third overall. He admitted that although the 2009 season hadn't gone to plan, the Winter Series did. “Although last year didn't go how we'd have hoped in Formula Renault, I showed what I was capable of in the winter series.”
Menasheh has been working towards a F3 drive for a while, and is delighted to be joining the grid with T-Sport, “Everyone at T-Sport is fantastic, I get on really well with the team and that can only be good for the season ahead.”
Idafar will be racing the Dallera Mugen – Honda National Class car for T-Sport. Idafar went on to say “I'm so happy to be joining the British Formula 3 International Series grid this year; it's what I've wanted to do since first testing an F3 car”
T-Sport boss Russell Eacott is delighted to have secured the services of Idafar for 2010 and at such an early stage “We're very happy to welcome Menasheh to the team and we're sure he'll be extremely competitive in this year's National Class. During his first test with us last year we were stunned by the pace he showed, his lap times were very impressive.”
Eacott then went on to add “It's good for us to sign a driver with Menasheh's potential so early into the year, thanks to the conclusion of our deal to advertise and promote Gulf Computer Services W.L.L. Now the plan is for him to get as much mileage under his belt as possible before the start of the season in April.”
By joining the Formula 3 Grid, Idafar will get to race at 3 Formula 1 tracks during the 30 race season, at Magny Cours in France, Spa in Belgium and Hockenheim in Germany.
