Dalziel Joins JaguarRSR For American Le Mans Series

1 Mins read

Recent 24 Hours of Daytona winner Ryan Dalziel has joined the JaguarRSR GT2 squad for the American Le Mans Series (ALMS).

The 27-year-old Scot joins team co-founder Paul Gentilozzi and Belgian Marc Goossens in the team, which also provisionally includes road racing veteran Scott Pruett for the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.

While Pruett's presence on the entry list is subject to change the press release from them team fails to clarify what races Dalziel has signed for, whether he is only a third driver of the ALMS' two endurance races or will contest more races alongside either Gentilozzi or Goossens.

“We are working on developing a driver line up that will put us out in front,” said Gentilozzi. “We know the competition is tough this year and that we will have to be on top of our game. I have watched Ryan grow into a matured racer both in open-wheel and sports car racing. His hard work paid of recently winning the 24 Hours of Daytona and any driver that can achieve an accomplishment like that is one that will fit into the goals and aspirations this JaguarRSR program desires to achieve.

“I am so excited to be part of such an amazing brand like Jaguar,” explains Dalziel. “Coming from the United Kingdom I naturally grew up following Jaguar’s racing heritage and admiring their cars. Its like a dream come true that my first opportunity to drive for a manufacturer is for Jaguar Cars.”

“I have known Paul Gentilozzi and his group for a number of years through my Champ Car days, and always enjoyed watching them in Trans Am. I know I am with a great crew and excellent co drivers. The GT field in ALMS this season looks really strong and I hope I can contribute to Jaguars successful return to Sports Car Racing.”

JaguarRSR will be present at the upcoming winter test at Sebring on February 22-23. Fans can attend the event, which will see cars on track for eight hours both days, with tickets being priced at $10 a day. For those not in Florida live timing and scoring will be available on americanlemans.com.

The team will then open their competitive campaign with the ALMS curtain raiser, the 12 Hours of Sebring over March 17-20.
