London based 22 year old Russian driver Max Snegirev is to graduate into the Cooper Tyres British Formula 3 International Series International class for the 2010 season, at the wheel of a Mercedes powered Dallara chassis run by Fortec Motorsport.
Snegirev competed in the British F3 National class in the 2009 season, taking 4 class podiums en route to 4th overall, and 2009 saw Snegirev make his Formula Renault UK debut at Croft with Tempus Sport.
Snegirev's first time in his 2010 spec Mercedes powered Formula 3 race car next week at the last official pre season tests at Silverstone, ahead of the opening rounds at Oulton Park over the 3rd and 5th April.
Snegirev will be partnered at Fortec Motorsport by Formula Renault graduate Oli Webb and Daniel McKenzie for the 2010 season.
Speaking about the announcement, Mick Kouros, Fortec's senior race engineer said: “We are looking forward to Max driving our car for the first time at Silverstone on 23 March. Max knows that he has missed several test days but is keen to start working with the team and his new team-mates. We will all be working hard to help bring Max up to speed with the International class car, and although he is starting behind all the rest we will be working on continually improving as the season develops.”
