Reigning Ginetta G50 champion Nathan Freke, and his Century Motorsport team have become the latest driver to confirm they entry into the G4 class for this year's British GT class.
The new class sees the GT4 class, which has competed in the series since 2008, combined with the Supersports that made their debut last year.
The team will enter a Ginetta G50 in every round of the British GT Championship except the trip to Spa-Francochamps on June 5 for what a series press release describes as “clashes with other team commitments”.
Freke will share driving duties with Danish lady race Vibe Smed.
“We are very pleased to have signed Vibe to co-drive with me in the series,” Freke extols. “The combination will enable us to run at the front and while missing a round will make winning the series difficult it is not impossible.”
The signing of the Dane also marks a tie up with veteran British GT team Chad Racing, as Chad's Piers Masarati explains; “Vibe is a Chad Racing junior driver and we are looking to develop a clear route for drivers into international sports cars via GT4. Chad is running a large British GT and European programme in GT3, so it made sense for us to form a relationship with Nathan and Century Motorsport.”
“Nathan, as we know from last year, is an exceptional driver and Vibe will develop massively from driving with him this year. Century and Chad are both young teams with the same values and I’m sure this won’t be the only collaboration.”
