2 Mins read

The SRO Motorsports Group today unveiled the mouth-watering 36 strong entry list for next month's opening FIA GT3 European Championship round.

The list includes ten different makes of car from eight of the best known sportscar makers in the world, and though the list is missing entries from Morgan, Dodge, Jaguar and Ascari 2010 will see the return of the famous Mustang name with Belgian team Marc VDS built machines. This year will also see the debut of the BMW Z4 GT3 alongside the BMW Alpina that appeared last year.

The series, now in its fifth year will see the Hexis AMR squad return to defend its teams' title – its two DBRS9 cars carrying the no.1 and 2 plates into the curtain raiser at Silverstone on May 1-2.

British fans will recognise several familiar team names on the entry list. British-based teams Trackspeed and Chad Racing have decided to double up their British GT campaigns with a European entry fielding a brace of Porsche 911 GT3R and Ferrari 430 Scuderia respectively.

They will also have to face United Autosports, another team from the British series planning a European assault, as well as established names in sportscar racing.

After the two race weekend at Silverstone, supporting the FIA GT1 World Championship, the GT3 series will visit, Brno, Jarama, Paul Ricard and Portimao before the season culminates at Zolder, Belgium on October 10.
