1 Mins read

The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Eastern Europe got under way last weekend at the Istanbul Park Circuit with a grid of ten drivers including Greek star Antonios Wossos and the German Sports Cup driver Stefan Bihl.

With a 45 minute delay at the start of the race due to heavy rain the race finally go under way with a thrilling battle ensuing between the top four cars with Cenk Ceyisakar taking the season’s first victory.

The second race took place a day later in much better conditions, bright sunshine and blue sky led to perfect racing conditions as Yucel Ozbek took the lead in the opening laps with Anotonios Wossos hot on his tail. Behind them a battle between race 1 winner Cenk Ceyisakar and Yadel Oskan was being fought out and would be decided ultimately by only a few hundreths of a second with Ceyisakar securing a podium place as the chequered flag dropped.

Organiser Karsten Molitor was happy with the opening round: “We are very happy to see, that it was worth to invest the hard work of the last months and we are very proud to see that we exceeded all expectations.”

He went on to thank everyone involved in the project: “We address our thanks to all supporters of this project and to those who trusted into it. We want to highlight especially the performance of the technical crew, who once again enabled a perfect state of techniques.”

With the first round out of the way Molior revealed they have installed a new workshop in Istanbul to enable expansion: “After having showed what the new platform is about, we hope to enlarge the grid further.”

The next round sees the PCC-EE join the Formula 1 circus in support of the Istanbul GP at the end of May.
