Carrera Cup hits the streets of Gothenburg

1 Mins read

This weekend the Carrera Cup Scandanavia travels to Gothenburg for it’s only street race of the season – with Robin Rudholm and Fredrik Larsson seperated by only a single point at the top of the championship table.

Reigning champion Jocke Mangs was on pole here last year, however he announced his retirement from the Carrera Cup after the last round at Knutstorp, so it has been team-mate Rudholm at the sharp end of the grid this season, and has been leading the title chase since then.

However Larsson thinks he can still defeat his close rival this weekend, and for the championship as a whole, after taking a double victory at the season opener in Jyllandsringen.

“I am going to give him a very hard fight this weekend and I feel stronger than him in pure speed,” said Larsson.

Martin Öhlin meanwhile is just over a win’s worth of points behind the leading duo, so a good performance here could get him much closer to the top of the championship table. Meanwhile two promising youngsters are locked in their own championship battle, Oscar Palm and Linus Ohlsson. The latter is only 8 points behind the former in the battle for fourth place, showing they have plenty of potential and a bright future ahead of them.
