Glynn Geddie Joins Trackspeed For British GT

1 Mins read

Porsche driver Glynn Geddie is to contest the remainder of the British GT Championship with David Ashburn's Trackspeed team. His new commitments will se him contest the series alongside the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, where Geddie lies fifth in the drivers' standings.

The Porsche squad, who rejoined the series this year, have been a front running team this yea, Ashburn lies second in the premier GT3 class of the British championship, and the team also had success on the European stage at Silverstone.

Scotsman Geddie drove for the team at the Knockhill round of the GT Championship, partnering Ashburn to a third in the weekend's first race before retiring from the second race whilst fighting for the lead. The duo will now be reunited, starting at the July -17-18 meeting at Rockingham, where they are expected to, once more, be among the front runners.

“We had a very positive and promising weekend at Knockhill a couple of months ago and I’m more than confident that we have all the ingredients to give the team their first win this season,” said BRDC Rising Star Geddie.

“Although I already have experience of endurance racing in things like Britcar and the GT Cup, it will be nice to mix it up with the sprint races of the Carrera Cup this year. British GT has always been an appealing championship for me and something I’ve always looked at, so this presents me with the best opportunity to gain more experience and fight for race wins.”

“Glynn is staying in the car now for the rest of the year,” says Trackspeed team manager Ricki Martino, “and will finish off the season with David, who is looking pretty good in the championship. The idea is for Glynn to help him to keep the pressure on the quick guys and to keep pushing for the points.”
