Porsche Supercup To Continue As F1 Support

1 Mins read

The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup will continue as a support series to Formula 1 next season after organisers signed a contract that will run until 2013.

“We're proud of the successful liaison with Formula 1,” said Wolfgang Dürheimer. “The Porsche Mobil1 Supercup has developed superbly on this premium platform and has produced many world class drivers who today enjoy great success particularly in long distance racing.”

The Mobil 1 Supercup is the flagship of Porsche’s 19 racing series and attracts some of the best sportscar talent to its ranks. It has run alongside F1 – the only GT series to do so – since 1993.

“The Porsche Mobil1 Supercup is an important element of the Formula 1 race weekends, and always provides spectators with gripping motorsport at a very high level,” said Patrick McNally, CEO of Allsport Management SA.
