Biagi Stays With BMW Italy For Superstars Title Defence

1 Mins read

BMW Team Italy has confirmed its line up for the 2011 Superstars Series, with reigning champion Thomas Biagi once again leading the team. Biagi will be joined in BMW M3’s by Stefano Gabellini and rookie Alberto Cerqui

2010 saw 34 year old Biagi take eight podiums, including two wins, on his way to the International and Italian titles. These titles are added to a CV which already includes the 2003 and 2007 FIA GT1 championships.

Commenting on the announcement, Biagi said: “Racing with Team BMW Italy in 2010 was a dream come true for me and continuing this in 2011 too is great. The feeling with the team, the best I have raced for in my career, is perfect and this is an advantage with respect to last year when we started from scratch. We are all aware that Superstars is a growing championship and to be on top we will have to work even harder than what done last year; we are well motivated in doing so, the experience of Roberto Ravaglia and Umberto Grano has anyway a unique added value within the team and I am extremely honored to work at their side”
