Rockingham Launch Logo Competition For 10th Birthday

1 Mins read

Rockingham Motor Speedway is celebrating its tenth birthday this year and the UK's youngest motor racing circuit has launched a competition to allow fans to join in the celebrations. They are looking for fans to design a commemorative logo to celebrate the anniversary.

The Northamptonshire circuit has held meetings for some of the biggest series in the UK, including the British Touring Cars, British Formula 3, British Superbikes and its own Days of Thunder series, as well as holding two meetings of the American CART (Champ Car) series.

Since it opened in May 2001, the circuit has become more than just a race track though, moving itself into the corporate entertainment industry as well, making itself one of the UK's top venues for manufacturers, track day organisers, driver training and corporate and retail days.

Rockingham Director Charlotte Orton, said: “We cannot believe Rockingham is 10 already! It has been an eventful first decade and we are really looking forward to celebrating the next 10-years.

“To commemorate this fantastic milestone, we are looking for someone to design a new logo, which we can use throughout our anniversary year. There are a few guidelines but in general, designs can be of a favourite aspect of Rockingham or how you see the circuit in the future.”

The brief for the logo is that it includes the current Rockingham logo as the main component (this cannot be modified), has the number 10 somewhere within the design, can work on any colour background and fits in with Rockingham's brand guidelines and colour palette, which can be found on the circuits website.

The prize for the winner is a family season ticket to the circuit and a commemorative item with their winning design on it. All entrants shortlisted will also receive a free ticket to a Rockingham Race Meeting.

Entries can be sent to Rockingham 10th Anniversary Logo Competition, Rockingham Motor Speedway, Mitchell Road, Corby, Northants, NN17 5AF or [email protected]. All entries must include full name, age and contact details. Closing date for entries is 5.30pm on Friday, February 25. The competition will be judged by the Rockingham team and the winning entrant will be notified by Friday, March 4.
