Davies Stays With Optimum For G40 Challenge

1 Mins read

2009 Ginetta G20 Champion Mark Davies has re-signed with Optimum Motorsport to compete in this seasons Ginetta Challenge. The team are set to run three Ginetta G40's in the series, with Davies leading their driver line up.

Davies, who will be backed once again by Glasgow-based Cardowan Creameries, competed for the team in last season's Ginetta G50 Cup, picking up a best result of fourth at Donington Park on his way to eighth in the championship.

Dewsbury-based Optimum will also be running cars in the 2011 Ginetta GT Supercup, with the team hoping to run one G55 and one G50 in the new series. They have already confirmed George Murrells is making the step up to the series to drive its G55, while they are currently in discussions with several drivers to fill the seat in the G50.

The team are expecting delivery of the new 370bhp G55 in the next week or so, with reigning Ginetta Challenge champion Murrells' first outing in the car set to be at the Ginetta Media Day on 17th March.
