Fischer Racing Planning Third FIA GT3 Season

1 Mins read

Fischer Racing is set to return for a third FIA GT3 European Championship campaign with a pair of Ford GTs, the team declaring their plans at 'full blast' for the season ahead.

“We already contracted two drivers for one of our two Ford GTs,” said team principal Hardy Fischer, “after our 2011 plans are finalised, we will announce the drivers. For our second Ford GT we still have two seats available.”

2011 will be the German team's second season with the Ford, making them among the most experienced squads with the car in European racing in GT3 racing where the GT has been among the most successful cars. “Last season proved that the Ford GT is still competitive and a potential race winner” Fischer explains. “During our 2010 season in the European Championship, we didn't have any technical issues during the races, that speaks for itself.”

Last season the team ran a single car with the driving squad led by Finn Mikko Eskelinen.

The FIA GT3 season begins in May at the Portimao circuit before visiting Silverstone on June 5-6. The calendar also includes the first international race in Russia at Smolensk in August.
